Magandang Araw sa inyong lahat! Wow this week was awesome! This was one of the best weeks of my entire mission, we had the spirit in so many of our lessons and the members helped out by giving us some quality referrals. We are trying super hard to get as many people baptized in June as we possibly can, this week was the last week we had to find for June. I am really satisfied with the work we did this week, we had back to back days where we were able to teach 9 lessons and found lots of new investigators. Saturday morning we had a feeling to go out early and visit a contact that we had. When we got to there house there was 10 people in it and they were all family members, and no one was a member. We taught a great lesson about the Restoration and they really enjoyed it, right after we ended the lesson they asked us where our church is and when we can come back. We set up an appointment for this week and they have been texting us this week about how excited they are to come to church! It would be amazing if they all came, I know that God led us there because they were ready to hear the gospel and accept the message and because we were willing to act and actually go out and work. That experience goes along with something I learned this week: when we set goals we need faith. When I say faith I mean the belief that you can hit the goal that you set, and the ACTION. If we set a goal for 40 baptisms in a month we need to absolutely believe that we can hit that goal, we need to be thinking about it and thinking about ways we can hit it. But the more important part is the action. We need to actually go out and work as hard as we can and do all that we can to hit that 40. If we get up and do the work, if we give our all to hit that goal then the Lord will help us and make up the difference. I have found myself  saying many times on my mission "Lord I am going to do the best I possibly can, I am giving it my all, and I know you will do the rest." Then when we go out be confident, be humble, and try to learn as much as you can.

President Hughes shared a quote with us, I don't know who said it : "I never lose, I either win or I learn." I have tried to apply that quote in my life and I invite you all to do the same.

Another quote from Elder Holland I heard this week: "The first great commandment is to love God with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength, but the first great truth is that God loves us with all his heart, might, mind, and strength."

Mahal ko po kayo!!! Have a great week
p.s. konting oras na lang haha 4 pdays na lang, ang bilis ng panahon :)

Loud Rain 5/20/2019

This week was a really good one. We found a golden investigator. On Thursday as we were leaving to go home, one of our workers called us over to a tindahan. There was a lady that you could tell had just finished crying. We introduced ourselves to her and asked if we could share our message. It was a super powerful lesson, we testified that God knew her and loved her and that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ she can receive peace and joy through her trials. She thanked us for coming and teaching her, she felt a lot better and she was at church yesterday and loved it! We are going to give her a bap date this week and we are hoping she can be baptized by June. I am thankful for our faithful worker who recognized an opportunity to share the gospel. This week it rained a lot, and when it rains here IT POURS. Almost everyone's roof here is thin sheet metal so when the rain hits it it gets really loud. We taught like 6 lessons this week where we had to yell as loud as we could so they could hear us hahaha. My voice is almost gone because of the rain. Our teaching pool is the biggest its ever been and we feel like the people are pretty solid. This week will be another one full of teaching and helping our investigators progress to baptism. If I took anything out of this week it was this: God loves you because YOU ARE HIS CHILD. And if we follow his plan we can become Gods as he is.

Mahal ko kayo! Ingat kayo lagi

Wala na si Bert 5/13/2019

Magandang araw sa lahat ng mga magaganda at gwapo nandiyan! I hope you guys had a great week! This week Elder Bertulano got et'd to Montalban zone in Rizal. I got a new companion: Elder Lungren. He is from Idaho, he is only 18, he has been here for about 9 months... and he is already a zone leader! He is magaling, he is really cool I am sad to see Berts go but I am glad I got a good young missionary to replace him. The zone is doing great, we are getting closer and closer to our goal, and some of the missionaries here are growing and getting better. This week we found a lot of people that seemed really promising, I am really excited to see what happens in the coming weeks. We did a lot of finding this week so we taught a fair share of Lesson 1 and Book of Mormon lessons. Sister Anne is one of our investigators that seems golden, she came to church last week with her 8 year old son!!! It was great to see her there, hopefully we can teach her this week. He found 2 big families this week and we are going to focus on them this week, they are both 5 family members so that would be awesome to get them to church. This week we had our ward activity in Norzagaray, Bulacan in a river, it was super pretty. Our ward is awesome and watching them try to do zumba in the river was amazingly entertaining hahaha. I love it here, I love the mission. I hope you all can find ways this week to naturally share the gospel with your friends and family. The worth of their soul is great in the sight of our father in heaven. Mahal ko po kayong lahat. Ingat kayo lagi :)

Operation 300

Magandang araw sa inyong lahat! This week was great. We had zone conference that was focused on our Stairway to Heaven, that is the process our mission has to help us track our investigators and help them prepare for baptism. It was a really good conference. President Hughes got us all excited again for our goal of 300 baptisms in June. He told us the story of his mission in England and that they tried and tried over and over and always failed, but when he had one month left, he really got the vision, made his plans and executed them and they got 300 baptisms in that month. We are using all of our time to finalize our plans and to find those people who can be baptized in June. This week our zone did great! We are hitting our goals and I can really tell that the zone is working hard. I love the unity that we have developed here in the zone it is awesome. It would be a miracle to hit 300, and we know that miracles come by faith. So we are focusing on obedience and we trust that we will be led to those people who need to hear the gospel and are ready to come unto Christ.

Earlier today we hiked Mount Balagbag with our zone. It was pretty fun but it was cloudy so the view was not the greatest. I am loving the mission and enjoying the time I have left! Mahal ko po kayong lahat, sana maenjoy niyo ang darating na linggo ☺

Sinusi ni Susan ang sisidlan ng sisiw (say it 5 times fast) 4/29/2019

Hey everyone, hope you had a great week! This week was a little bit frustrating but nothing too bad. First off, I experienced my first earthquake last p-day. It was 5.7 in SJDM where I am but in Pampanga it was close to 7.0 I think. It was pretty crazy to feel everything shake, and I thought about how bad it could be if there was a worse earthquake here, all the buildings would fall. But I am glad that everyone over here was safe it was a cool experience. We had some trouble with teaching this week, it seemed like everyone was too busy or asleep when we went and visited them. We had exchanges with the APs and I got to go with my batch, Elder Olpin. It was fun and we got a lot of good teaching in. We did not see that many investigators at church this week, but we will keep on trying. I wish that people knew how important our message is for them and their families. I hope one day they will open their hearts to the gospel and receive it. Tomorrow is zone con, we will be serving up a nice workshop, I am excited to see how it goes. Anyways, thats pretty much it. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the way back to our heavenly home, there is no other way. Love you all, have a great week!!!
