Preaching and Teaching 10/30/217

Hello everyone! I hope your weeks were great! i miss and  love you all!

This week was another grind. We worked hard to try and find those people who are ready to accept the word of god. My tagalog is getting a little better, my lesson 1 is improving and hopefully in 5 weeks when my training ends I can be able to lead the area. We found an awesome family this week and they are progressing. we had to drop a couple of investigators because no progress was made. Its sad to see them not care because the gospel is so dang important for us. This week I found pork and beans at one of the stores. I stocked up on that and ate it for like every meal. Then I had LBMs the rest of the weekend hahaha. It was not very fun. It didnt really rain this week so my shoes are not wet and my shirts are staring to turn yellow! I got a fresh cut at the barber and it helps with the heat. Also there is dog poop everywhere in the streets and so its fun to dodge the poop as your wwalking, it keeps things exciting. I was reading in Alma about Ammon and Aaron and Amulek and I realized how much harder they had it than us. They were almost killed multiple times and they still kept preaching and working knowing they would be blessed and knowing they could not be harmed as long as they had the spirit with them. I am trying to work like them, no matter what. Even if people laugh and point at me and call me bad names. I am starting to realize more than ever the importance of this gopsel. Thats all, boring week but me and Elder Morris worked hard. Love you all! remember to read everyday!

High Gear 10/23/2017

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing great, miss you all and I am praying for you all as well! This week was a grind for sure but the rewards were amazing.

This week was work, work, work. We decided to kick it into high gear this week. Our teaching pool was getting small and some of the people we were teaching were not keeping commitments. We found everyday this week. On Wednesday we found like 5 investigators and we both got home that night, we were all sweaty and tired and decided we can do better. The next day we tried even harder and although we did not find as much we both felt really good about our efforts. This week weather wise was good, it didnt really rain as much and the cloud coverage was nice so it wasnt too hot either. Friday was another good day, it was pretty hot and we walked around like crazy, nothing too exciting happened. Saturday was one heck of a day. We worked from 10am to 10pm, we walked around back and forth in our area over and over. We found 8 new investigators and we taught some less active members as well. It felt good coming back to the house and flopping on my bed knowing that my efforts were noted by the Lord. Overall this week we found 19 new investigators and 7 of them came to church. I really hope that they have the urgency to keep coming to church and reading so they can have the testimony they need to get baptized. Please pray for the Mciver family if you can, they are a family of four who are really good investigators, we need them to come to church. Sunday was crazy and we pretty much across our area to our church right at starting time, we walked in all sweaty and breathing hard and we got some weird looks haha.

Last night we found a spider on our wall that was legit like 7 inches from end to end. We all freaked out and when Elder Morris finally got the courage to throw a shoe at it, the egg broke and out came hundreds of little baby spider. hahaha iti was nasty and none of us could sleep until we sprayed our rooms with bug killer. nasty. Hopefully this next week we can get another 20 investigators. The grind is real sorry for no pics, maybe next week. LOVE YOU ALL remember to read everyday. ingat po

Crazy cool week YO 10/17/2017

This week was jam packed and to be honest I cannot really remember everything, but I am gonna try my best to get it all

So the week started off with splits, I went with my district leader Elder Batilong and we taught some people, after he took me to this mountain top and the view was so awesome. The air did not stink and I could actually see the mountains! it was beautiful. The next day was our mission tour with the area president Elder Bowen. He pretty much said that obedience is the most important thing we can have because if we are obedient we can ask God for things and honestly say to ourselves that we are doing our best. It was a great meeting and he gave us a formula to follow: Obedience + Faith = Miracles. And the next day we tested it out. we did everything exactly on time and when we went out we found a women who was looking for the LDS church. She wanted to be accomidated (baptized) into our church, miracle!. Hopefully that works out. I know that obedience brings miracles.

So one of our investigators, Alaysa is 17 and has a kid. SHe isnt married yet so before she can get baptized she has to get married or stop living with the man. We invited her to baptism on November 25 and she said "maybe next november" WHAT???? she seemed like the perfect investigator, she comes to church and even pays her tithing, we are not giving up on her yet. Hopefully she will realize the importance of baptism and accept it in the Lords time.

This week is rained really hard and both of my shoes got soaked. One pair already has mold on them but i wear them anyway. There was a little bit of flooding in our area but nothing too crazy. Today we played basketball with our zone and said good bye to Elder Uhler, he was a great ZL and missionary. I have 6 more weeks until my training is up, the language is hard and slowly coming. Sorry for the jumbled email. shout out to all my friends in the field and my cousin for getting married!! love you all!

Conference Weekend in the Philippines 10/09/2017

Kumsta po tayo!!! hope your week was dope!

First of all, shout out to all my brothers out in the mission field, I love you guys, your on the Lords errand and your doing great things! Also shout out to my fam bam, especially my mom she is a baller.

Now here we go, so the week went by very fast. We had to go pick up some stuff from the mission office and go to a bunch of meetings, so i was very stressed and at some points I felt lazy, but we worked as much as we possibly could. One of our investigators who has trouble keeping commitments decided to read one her own, she read like 9 chapters of the Book of Mormon on her own! wow! her faith is increasing and hopefully she can open her heart to the spirit and gain a testimony of the gospel. We have four investigators who are really progressing and they are doing great. I was so excited for conference weekend, and it was the greatest weekend of the mission so far! I loved all the talks and i felt the spirit so strong, some of the talks that stood out to me : Elder Zwick, he talked about seeing things through Christs eyes, it was awesome. Elder Callisters talk about the Book of Mormon was awesome as well and it reminded me of my Grandpa Munk, the testimony was so bold and straight forward it was awesome. Conference was definitely the break i needed. If you did not watch it I strongly suggest taking time to watch it next session and reading the talks in the ensign.
Me and my companion had to do laundry and so we decided to mix our laundry together and do it all in one big load. bad idea. we started at 8:00pm and ended at 1:00am. hahaha i got a good workout from scrubbing and I fell asleep really quickly after that. The weather was great this week, it only rained a couple times. My joy for the work is increasing more and more every day. I have been able to read the Book of Mormon almost twice through since the mission and the love i have for people and my family and the power i have to resist temptation is stronger than ever. I hope you all make reading the Book of Mormon a priority every day. Nothing bad will happen from reading and the prophets tell us that reading the book of mormon and gaining a testimony of it is more important than homework, sleep, or work. I encourage you all to test God, read and see if he doesnt bless you for it. I know he will
Love you all sooooo much, stay safe and I will take to yall next week.

Conference Weekend?? 10/2/2017

Kumusta! Hope you all have had great weeks!
Hope your conference weekend was awesome! I literally had no idea it was this week haha, its next weekend for us, we watch a recording of it because of the time difference.

Anyway, this week we did a lot  of finding, and it went pretty well. On Tuesday we had a district conference but really it was more like a zone conference because one of the sisters in our zone got diagnosed with thyroid cancer I think. The zone leaders talked about burning our boats and being committed to the mission. He talked about  taking it one day at a time and not wasting our time. Really if you think about it, when we waste time we are wasting the Lords time. It was really powerful and I am glad we have such good zone leaders.

We worked with the Rogers (couple missionaries) and the ward mission leader and we found 4 solid investigators and three of them are already coming to church and paying tithing and so hopefully they can be baptized here soon. The language is tough, its really slow but it helps me with my patience haha. The weather was good this week and it only rained 3 days. So on saturday before fast sunday we went to Macdo and bought a butt load of food. we kept it in the fridge and after our fast we feasted, it was awesome. Also, there is a dog on our street who is way aggresive and whoever owns it taught it to bark at people wearing white shirts, which is us. Elder Morris bought some Baygone and a lighter, we were walking down the street and the dog was barking and ran at us. Elder Morris pulled out the Baygone and torched the dog right in the face haha. It doesnt bark at us anymore. Today we went to the zoo for the district activity and it was awesome, they have so many animals there its crazy. Anyway yea that was my week. Im really looking forward to conference next sunday! Love you all!
