i hope you are all doing well. This week was a packed one but it flew by pretty fast. The big thing that happened was that we went proselyting on thursday to the Manila mission. WOW. It was crazy. We drove there and the traffic was crazy as usual, but we got there safely. Me and my Kasama were paired up with Elder Parker from Utah and he was awesome. We were walking around and it was shocking to see how these people live. As we walked around I was shocked to see the conditions these people live in. their homes are shacks and everything is so close together. There are people everywhere and the cars dont stop for anything including people so after a jeepney flew past me almost hitting me i walked closer to the sidewalk.
We knocked on our first door and a man answered, his name was Jun Jun. Elder parker talked in Tagalog to him and i had no idea what was being said, but all of the sudden he stopped and looked at me. After about 10 seconds of silence i realized that elder parker wanted me to talk. So i said a quick prayer in my head and started talking about the restoration (Panunumbalik) with him. It was amazing the words came to me and i am pretty sure i used words i didnt even know! as i was talking i noticed that a bunch of kids were gathered around us. I finished talking and i looked at my kasama and Elder Parker, they looked shocked but proud haha. Jun Jun wanted to learn more so we wrote his contact info. After, i gave all the kids high fives and i was called 'Joe' so many times i started to think my name was actually Joe. I felt bad for these kids because they are soooo poor. Alot of them dont wear clothes, they literally run around naked haha. It was a great experience.
I went to the temple today and it was awesome. I cant wait to get out to the field. Love you guys! talk to ya next week.
