Thanksgiving Feast 11/26/2018

Hey sorry this is so late, today was pretty busy.

This week was a pretty good one. We went on exchanges with the Tabang Elders because they were struggling in their area but we helped them, it was a really cool experience they are both pretty young in the mission so they did not really know how to use their time effectively. Hopefully what we did with them helps them in their work. We pretty much spent the entire week helping the progressing investigators get ready for their baptisms. We talked a lot with the bishop this week. Our bishop is the funniest guy ever. He is also a very good public speaker, he gave an awesome talk in sacrament, I wish i recorded it or something it was awesome. He is like the only one in the ward that realizes that sometimes the Filipino mindset makes it hard for the church to really progress here. He also does what he says he will do every time which I really respect. Anyways, this week all led up to today....we had a THANKSGIVING FEAST. We had our whole zone get together and we all ate and played games. I made the mashed potatoes and since we did not have anything I used a water bottle to mash them, it was messy and pretty palpak but it worked out in the end. Although they did not even compare to the mashed potatoes my grandparents make...I am not at that level yet.

Anyways this was my last thanksgiving on my mission, I wont forget, it was a good one.
I am thankful for so many things i cant make a list there would be no room... but most of all I am thankful for the opportunity that I have to be in the Philippines preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone and helping come unto Christ by being baptized. I would not want to be doing anything else at this time in my life. Gotta love the mish.

Elder Ho hit his head 11/19/2018

This week was lit, like usual.

On Tuesday night we were at the house talking and trying to figure out how we can help a couple elders in our zone that are struggling, as we were talking Elder Ho walked into the house with a cut on his finger. He asked me if I had a first aid kit so he could clean it and put a band-aide on it. He told me that he cut it on the fan because their fan did not have a cage, it was bleeding pretty bad and Elder Ho hates blood. I helped him clean it and then he told me that he really hates blood. I did not think anything of it I just kinda said something like "oh really, that ok its not too bad." As I am getting the band-aid for him he says "I feel kinda dizzy.." I turn around and I watch him fall from standing position all the way until his face smacked the tile floor, it was loud and our floor is super hard. He totally passed out. I did my best to flip him over while he was still out and we got some pillows and some water for him. He finally came to and had a big bump on his head, I was worried he had a concussion, we called the mission nurse and long story short he slept that next couple days because his face was swollen. I look back and although it sucks for him I had to laugh, just the way it happened was so funny. Anyways he is all goods now, share ko lang haha

This week was great for our area. We are currently teaching Christian (one of our investigators) how to read, he is making some great progress and also his testimony is growing. He really is thankful to us for helping him and he knows that being able to read will change his life. He is getting baptized on the 22nd of December, he will be a great addition to the ward. Hopefully we can get him to the point where he can read in church so he is not so shy to come.

The Aldaba family also has a lot of kids that we are teaching, they will get baptized on the 15th, hopefully if everything goes right we could get 10 of them on the 15th. It will be a great thing for their family, hopefully that will be the turning point for them to come back and start being active again. December should be a great month!!! I am excited to see what the zone can accomplish. Also we are getting sisters this week to help us in our area, so that will just add to the production. I am loving the mission, the work cant be stopped! Love you all and hope you have a great week!!!

Korean BBQ ft. the HO man 11/12/2018

This week was awesome. We are currently on track for the goals we have set for baptisms, there are a couple areas that still need some work though. There was an emergency transfer in our zone this week, my distrcit leader was transferred to Camarin so we got a new district leader and he is in an open area with his new trainee missionary. He feels pretty overwhelmed but he we helped him this week by going on exchanges and he had 5 investigators come to church so he was pretty excited and is now working on building the teaching pool in order to see some people progress in December. The AP's text us every day to remind us of the goal that we set for December, its really cool to see the whole mission united and all working toward the same big goal. You can feel the excitement in the mission. This week we have an MLC with a member of the Presidency of the 70. I am excited to hear what he has to say and am hoping he gives us some tools and ideas in order to hit this goal that we have. December 6th we have another mission tour with Elder Wakolo of the area presidency. We talked about some of the topics that we will be discussing at the last MLC and it should be a good mission tour, I hope it can help everyone.

This week we finally saw some of the people we have been pushing and pushing come to church!!! It also helped that when our district leader moved our area got bigger ad we got some of their investigators. As of now we are hoping and realistically looking at about 7 or 8 baptisms in December. I am praying that those will happen and that the other areas in the zone will be able to see baptisms as well.

We ate really good this week. Like really really good. Elder Ho and his companion Elder Liu (they are both chinese and loaded haha) paid for us for dinner on Thursday for his birthday. We went to a korean bbq and it was great, we all ate a lot of food. We were given breakfast and lunch on sunday. After that we had a great meeting with our bishop and he told us that if we are able to hit the goal for baptisms this year ( we need about 5 more for the year) he would buy us S&R pizza!!! Im hyped. Anyway, it was a great week looking forward to the next one.

Remember, you are the only problem you will ever have, and you are the solution.

11/05/2018 Road to 300

Hey everyone! this week was a pretty busy one and a pretty good one as well. We had transfers but they all went smoothly ad only 2 new missionaries came into the zone so it was pretty easy and we did not have to do much for that. The next day we had MLC and it was also Undas, it is kinda like the day of the dead. Everyone was at the cemetery and so we thought there was gonna be tone of traffic. It was the complete opposite and there was no traffic so we got to the mission office like 4 hours early haha. MLC was awesome, the best one that I have been to so far. We have a mission tour coming up with Elder Wakolo, he is in the Philippines area presidency. I am way excited to hear what he has to say for us as a mission. The rest of the week we were able to do exchanges with the 2 new trainees in our zone. One of them is from Lehi, Utah, he is the classic Utah missionary haha. The other one is from Taiwan and he just learned english like 4 months ago and now he is fluent so that was pretty cool. They are doing great and they are going to be really good missionaries in the future as they get older in the mission. Our mission did pretty well for the month of October, and we have all set a goal for this December to get 300 baptisms as a mission in the month of December. We are all going to push and work hard to get people ready for December. We have a lot of potential in our area it is just hard to find time to get a real full work day in so we are currently struggling but we will pick it back up in the next couple weeks. It seems like almost all of our investigators dont have enough money to get to church so we are trying to find a solution to that. That is pretty much it.... next week is gonna be great and December is going to be awesome, souls will be saved!

Maligayang Kaarawan to Grandma B!!! She makes the best spudnuts in the world!

Love you all have a great week!
